WAUWATOSA---With its season opener against the Blue Devils rescheduled due to weather, the Spartans got to work against a tough West Allis Predator squad on Saturday night at Raabe Field in Wauwatosa. It looked for a while like the weather might again play a role in this week's game, but it cleared shortly after kick-off giving the teams a great night for football.

The scoring started quickly for the Spartans, who won the coin toss, and quickly marched down the field for a touchdown - a pass from QB Matt Kufahl to WR Raymon Porchia. After an interception by CB Tony Salvage, the offense came back out and quickly scored again on another pass from Matt Kufahl, this time to WR Brad Guettel. On the ensuing drive, Salvage again

ended the Predators drive with an interception, and took it to the house for a touchdown.  The end of the first quarter saw the Spartans take a 20-0 lead.

After a quick first quarter, the second quarter got a little sloppy and resulted in neither team doing much offensively, leaving the halftime score still in favor of the Spartans 20-0.

The second half saw the Spartan offense awaken for three more touchdowns behind the arm of QB Brad Dement and the legs of RB Cedric McFadden. Dement completed two passes for 47 quick yards and one touchdown to WR Markese McDowell. From there, McFadden took over. In all, McFadden led all rushers with 92 yards rushing on 22 attempts, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. The Spartans moved out to a commanding 38-0 lead.

The Predators did manage a late touchdown on a tough run by RB Bobby Windom, making the final score 38-6.
